About the Position

 

We are actively seeking a number of Lead Technicians within our multi-disciplinary UK Design team.  The positions will be based at our Chester, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle offices.

The primary role of a Lead Technician is to support our CAD & BIM Managers in the day to day delivery of projects, providing exceptional technical input to our UK business transformation through the implementation of BIM.

Key Roles and Responsibilities will include:

 

  • Leading the design on smaller projects
  • Performing varying complexity of designs to produce drawings and models to meet client specifications, project briefs and tenders
  • Checking technical / project drawings for quality assurance and conformity
  • Co-ordination of processes, data and modelling information
  • Mentoring, knowledge sharing and up-skilling/training the design team where required
  • Take responsibility for personal development.
  • Deputise for the CAD & BIM Manager as required.
  • Be committed to your own Professional competency and continuing personal development and have an active interest in mentoring more junior members of the design team.

Technical Skills and Experience required:

  • Experience of working across a variety of sectors
  • Expertise in design technology and processes, (Discipline specific)
  • Knowledge, interpretation and application of relevant client, industry standards
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships across diverse teams and client groups
  • Robust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
  • A passion for design and innovation
  • Project a professional image to clients and colleagues.
  • Able to work collaboratively to form strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Able to recognise own impact on others and adapt approach where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate integrity.

  • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
