Our Land Development group in Whitby, ON is growing and looking for 2 Site Inspectors to join our team. As a Site Inspector, you will be a critical member of the Contract Administration team who will lead all aspects of the day to day site activities related to residential and commercial projects and oversee the contractors and their work. You will also be responsible for keeping the Client Project Manager and Project Coordinator up to date on all activities and highlight any items that could have a cost or schedule implication.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Site contact with contractor, client, municipality, approval agencies
  • Inspect, measure, document, provide field direction
  • Co-ordinate with Client PM and Project Coordinator
  • Co-ordinate with other site professionals (geotechnical, OLS, environmental, structural, fluvial, etc.)
  • Prepare and submit all DSEL field reports to Client PM
  • Day to day monitoring of project schedules
  • Organize construction meetings including preparation of agenda and minutes
  • Prepare cost sharing claims and submit to the Client PM
  • Apply for client security reductions
  • Review and recommendation of progress certificates
  • Preparation of as-built drawings
  • Assumption co-ordination and clean up
  • Quantity takeoff and tender preparation (time permitting)
  • Responsible for DSEL response to emergency situations
  • Responsibility for conformance with all approvals
  • Responsible for meeting deadlines as assigned and agreed
  • Provide detailed descriptions in timesheets for all time based work
  • Compile as-built data / info for verification of earthworks

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 - 10 years' experience
  • CET designation
  • Experience in residential and/or commercial development
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid Class G driver’s license and access to a vehicle
